Got land? Help the bees and boost your local pollination by hosting a CloudWood apiary on your property. We’re looking for committed landholders with good access and forage. In return, you may receive seasonal honey, wax—and maybe even a bottle of mead.

If you own a farm, acreage, or large property in the Northern Rivers region and want to contribute meaningfully to the environment, hosting a CloudWood apiary could be the perfect fit.
Our apiaries provide vital pollination to surrounding ecosystems and agriculture. In return for your commitment, you’ll enjoy benefits like:
1. Improved pollination across your property
2. A small share of honey, beeswax, and occasionally small-batch honey mead
3. Being part of a local movement to protect and strengthen bee populations
This is a long-term partnership, and we carefully assess each location. Properties with good vehicle access, nearby water sources, and diverse vegetation within a 2 km radius are ideal.

Become part of the solution—start your own backyard beehive with a fully set-up FlowHive from Byron locals. We’ll supply, paint, and install everything you need, including your first colony of bees. You add your creative touch, and we’ll even check in during the first few weeks to make sure all is well. Plus, $100 from every setup goes to the Bee Medicine Fund to help local beekeepers protect their hives.

Join the movement to protect pollinators and become a part of the solution with a beautiful backyard FlowHive setup—tailored, assembled, and installed by locals who care about bees as much as you do.
We make it easy:

You can still help the bees—even if you can’t keep a hive at home. This season, you can Adopt a Queen Bee through CloudWood Apiaries. Your support helps us build and maintain critical new hives. In return, you’ll receive regular updates, photos, and videos as your queen establishes her colony.

Adopt a Queen Bee – Be Part of the Hive, Even Without One at Home

Not everyone can host a beehive—but that doesn’t mean you can’t be part of the solution.
This season, CloudWood Apiaries is expanding its honey and breeder hives to help protect and strengthen bee populations in the Northern Rivers. It’s a high-cost, high-risk time to be building apiaries, but ensuring strong local stock is essential if we’re to prevent the collapse of bee numbers in our region.
By adopting a queen bee, you’ll:
1. Directly support the creation of new hives
2. Help preserve genetic diversity and hive health
3. Be part of a tangible, local solution to a global crisis
Your queen will be placed in a new nucleus colony, and we’ll send you regular updates, including photos and videos, as she builds her hive. You’ll get to follow her journey—and her hive’s impact on the ecosystem.
It’s the next best thing to having a hive in your backyard, and it helps us maintain the critical mass needed for long-term pollinator health.

Help us Save Byron’s Bees—One Hive at a Time

The SaveByronBees Bee Medicine Fund is a grassroots initiative supporting registered NSW beekeepers in the Northern Rivers region who are fighting the spread of Varroa destructor. Using only NSW DPI-approved treatment methods, we will bulk purchase essential miticides and distribute them directly to backyard and small-scale beekeepers who need them most.
With your contribution of $77, you’ll fund enough treatment to support five hives—giving vulnerable colonies a fighting chance to survive and thrive. Every dollar goes directly to the cause, coordinated by the Happy Bee nonprofit campaign.
